Hello everyone,
First I want to say, I did not mean to take such a long break in between episodes. Thank you for your patience and for sticking with the show. The good news is…
Good News:
Despite not putting an episode out in November - it was our biggest month of growth and listenership yet! This is thanks in large part to being put on Apple Podcast’s New and Noteworthy section in the comedy category and to being featured on a few newsletters. We have now reached 46 of the 50 states (if you know anyone in Alaska, Wyoming, Nebraska or Rhode Island - send them the pod!) and 38 different countries.
This week is the first part of a 2-part series on the less visible populations of diaper wearers. In other words: adults!
Who do we think about when we think of diapers? And who do we exclude? When I was first brainstorming ideas for Someone’s In Here episodes, I knew I would do one on the type of diapers that we wear at our earliest stages of life. It wasn’t until a friend of mine reacted to this idea suggesting that I cover the diapers more typically worn at the later stages of life that I had even considered that.
Luckily, around this time I also reconnected with my friend Jonas, who’s been working at nursing homes since the pandemic and he invited me into that world. After visiting nursing homes with him a couple times, I left with some great conversations I’m excited to share. Finally, this week I talk to Laurie Borowski, the CEO of In Control Diapers, which was rated the #1 adult diaper brand in 2024 by Wirecutter. Talking to Laurie provided a lot of insight and some twists and turns and I think you’ll enjoy hearing from her too.
Enjoy!
Please listen to Episode 6 when you get a chance (Apple, Spotify, Everywhere Else,) and subscribe if you haven’t yet. As always, I’d love if you let me know what you think of the episode. It means so much to hear from you. And if there’s anyone in your life you think would enjoy the pod, please share!
What’s Next?
Next week will be the second part of this 2-part series and then we’ll be off for a while again. I’m hoping to end the season with 2 more episodes, either in January or February. I’ll also be exploring a way for listeners to support the show monetarily and get some bonus content as well as other perks.
with love and poop positivity,
Ben
